It seems like just yesterday when Typhoon Bolaven passed through Okinawa. Although for some Bolaven is now out of sight and out of mind now it's time to focus on Sanba.

What was only a tropical depression on Tuesday had now developed into a category two with an expected strength of a category four by the time that it passes through Okinawa. Although the current projected path does not have Sanba crossing directly over Okinawa it will be coming quite close which as a category four can cause a great deal of damage.Current projections show the peak Sanba's strength hitting Okinawa on Sunday although with the storm still a few days out it may be too soon to determine exactly when we will expect the strongest parts of the storm.

Although Okinawa's structures are built for this type of weather there is a slightly higher risk that residents face when two large storms approach one after the other. This risk is especially higher in areas which have not fully recovered from the last storm.
