    NASA - a nerd's space fantasy

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     JamesScottS captured these photos at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida on Septemeber 2, for the rare opportunity to get a launch pad tour. "This is the 50 year anniversary of the Kennedy Space Center and there is always a sense of awe," he says. "Working together to achieve something great isn’t only a NASA and Kennedy Space Center story, it is our nation’s story."
    - Anika3, CNN iReport producer

I'm local to Florida and after 30 plus years of restricted access the launch pad has been opened up for visitors. This could be a limited opportunity as the private sector contractors will need launch pads to test and use. Once in use these will be restricted areas and possibly for decades to come. The photos are from the Kennedy Space Center (KSC) and a couple of the launch pad.
