    Burma: Breakfast With One Thousand Monks

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     TheNYBureau captured a photo of monks from the Mahagandayon Monastery in Amarapura gathering for their one hot meal of the day. He says documenting the monks was a spiritual experience. '. Usually when well over one thousand people get together in one place, there is a fair amount of noise created through conversation, laughter and such. However, at this breakfast the monks rarely spoke and the few tourists that were present were, much like myself, in observation mode, taking quiet photographs,' he said.

    Breakfast with one thousand monks is an experience not to be missed. Outside of the city of Mandalay, Burma is Mahagandayon Monastery in Amarapura. Over one thousand monks meet here mid-morning for their only hot meal of the day: rice & soup. It is an incredible spectacle to watch the process & the procession. In these 10 images I take you along for the journey. **one of the memories I remember so well from this experience is how silent these monks were.**
