Who Will Make the Best Leader? The Best President?

As the presidential election draws near we are confronted with the task of choosing who will be the best man to lead this country for the next 4 years. So what makes a good leader? What are the roles of the president?

Leadership is defined as “organizing a group of people to achieve a common goal”.

The roles of the president are as follows:

    1. Chief of State – in this role a president is expected to be an inspiring example to the American people. He becomes the living symbol of our nation, congratulating America accomplishment, welcoming people to the White House etc.

    2. Chief Executive – in this role the president is the “boss” for millions of government workers in the Executive Branch. Appoints head of CIA or DOJ etc. He is also the person that decides how the laws of the US are to be enforced.

    3. Chief Diplomat – in this role he decides foreign policy. He decides where to travel to and who to meet with abroad. He invites foreign diplomats to the White House.

    4. Commander-In-Chief – in this role the president is in charge of the armed forces.

    5. Chief Legislator – while only congress has the actual power to make laws, the Constitution gives the president power to influence Congress in its lawmaking. He may urge Congress to pass a law, sign a bill into law or may veto a bill. He accomplishes this by developing relationships with the congress members.

    6. Chief of Party – in this role, the president helps members of his political party get elected or appointed to office.

    7. Chief Guardian of the Economy – in this role, the president is concerned with things like unemployment, high prices, taxes, business profits and the general prosperity of the country. While the president does not control the economy, he is expected to help it run smoothly.

Now that we know what we should be expecting from a president…how does each man measure up in each of the areas?

Which man would make the best leader? Who is the man that will best be able to organize the branches of government to achieve the common goal of improved prosperity for our nation?

Who will be the man that will best embody what the US stands for?

Who will choose the best people in the US to support him as part of his administration?

Who will be the best man to deal with the rest of the world?

Who will be the best man to lead our troops?

Who will be the best man to work with congress?

Who will be the most faithful to his political party?

Who will be the best man to guard the US economy?

    Who will it be?

While most people know that I will vote for Mitt Romney, the picture was supposed to be of both Romney and President Obama...ooops
