The Japanese call it Senkaku and the Chinese Diaoyo, and both countries insist the Island  belong to them.Here's some cold, hard, facts folks.
     The Japanese seized the Island from China during the sino Japanese war 1894-95 After WW2 the Americans returned all countries invaded by the Japanese to their rightful owners except that is, for some strange, unknown reason that little mound of rock in the Chinese sea  which is causing so much strife between the two nations and which is escalating at an alarming rate by the hour !
      Chinese protestors just ransacked a big Japanese department store and are smashing up a Japanese cars in China. (the latter which is silly because some Chinese people would have paid for and owned them)
The real reason the Chinese are understandably mad over those Islands is because they have billions of dollars worth of natural gas and who knows what other valuable assets beneath them, not to mention 200 miles fishing rights.
What concerns me and I'm sure most people who live in this region as we do is that their is always the possibility the Chinese may be tempted to take things a step further, flex their muscle and invade that lil ole Island ! I have posted some photos of the strength of both Chinese and Japanese forces on here for y'all to review. I do NOT believe, even though they are responsible for the defense of Japan that the US military will want to go to war with China over a couple of rocks in the sea ! For two economic giants, number two and three richest countries in the World to even contemplate going to war over that Island is unthinkable, but...it could happen !
      Anyway we will just have to wait and see what happens next. In the meantime a million Chinese visit Japan annually, they spend a LOT of dough there wealthy Chinese buy a lot of property there too and they are now threatening to boycott Japan, that will devastate an already hurting Japanese economy !  Japan has just closed 3 Panasonic factories in China and a bunch more including car factories, that won''t help their economy which is way down and hurting right now !
China had 2 but now has increased it's survey ship presence to 8, Japan is probably very close to sending more patrol ships and goodness knows what other military forces over to those Islands !
      Let's hope this mess can be somehow sorted out amicably in this day and age because a military altercation might destabilize the entire asia oceana region and only add to the economic woes too !
America has it's hands full as we all know with wars all over the place and the constant threats of attacks against the US and American diplomatic facilities and interests Worldwide, the last thing it needs on the eve of the American Presidential election is another military conflict !
      So I believe the Japanese and Chinese are gonna have to sort this one out between themselves, we'll just have to wait and see what happens next!
