    Pole Creek Fire Day 7

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     WesternImage captured a photo of the Pole Creek fire just outside of Sisters, Oregon, on September 15. She says the fire is still burning and has claimed several thousand acres of land. She says there have already been evacuations in the surrounding areas and you can smell smoke from miles away. She says when this photo was taken there was ash and burned twigs falling to the ground all around her, and helicopters overhead pouring water on the fire. 'It almost looked like a war scene with the helicopter noises and all of the smoke,' she said.
    - Jareen, CNN iReport producer

The Pole Creek Fire continues to burn outside of Sisters, Oregon. According to Inciweb.org the fire is now at 16,000 acres and is still growing. When we took this photograph we were watching them load the water and take off... These people are trying as hard as they can to get a hold of this fire! As we were standing here, small branches from trees (maybe 3-4 inches long) were literally floating through the air...I picked one up when hit the ground and smelled it... wow did it smell like SMOKE..they were all blackened from the fire.
