    The Monument of Santiago


    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     misael says he took the photos early on a Sunday morning on September 16 2012. "I thought that only the monument and I would be alone, but had a couple training kungfu and made the photo more interesting"

    The Monument of Santiago formally Monument to the Heroes of the Restoration in the Dominican Republic.

    Inside the monument is a museum about the heroes of the Restoration, which was released after its renovation. The Santiago congregate at the foot of the tower, on top of the hill, to see the city and have a good time with friends and family. Both day and night you can see the beautiful view of the city cibaeña.
    For its characteristic silhouette and its popularity among people across the country, the Monument of Santiago has become the main symbol of the city of Santiago de los Caballeros. is one of the most resilient in the country, you could say it's one of the sources that attract more tourists from around the world and the country at Santiago. In February decorate around celebrating the carnival, as of January 1 of each year people come to witness the moment the gun while receiving the warm congratulations of others around them to mark a new year.
