The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon  him) said “Anyone who believes in God and the Last Day (of Judgment)  should not harm his neighbor. Anyone who believes in God and the Last  Day should entertain his guest generously. And anyone who believes in  God and the Last Day should say what is good or keep quiet.”

ABOVE IS AT LEAST SOME WORDS OF WISDOM FROM THE QUR'AN

Long before there was an America or Europe as we now know it, Muslims enjoyed hundreds of years of prominence and power and Jews and Christians lived in harmony and peace with them,they respected and tolerated each other's beliefs and cultures.

Islamic Empire (700-1200): Golden Age for Jews in Spain

      Beginning in the mid-eighth century, along the southern and western rim  of the Mediterranean Sea and east beyond the Caspian Sea, Jews were  widely tolerated and accepted under Islamic rule.  The Muslims granted  Jews and Christians exemption from military service, the right to their  own courts of law, and a guarantee of the safety of their property.  Islamic territory included present day Iran, Iraq, Turkey, western  Russia, the Saudi Arabian peninsula, northern Africa, and, in Europe,  Spain, Sicily, and Sardinia.  Jews experienced a Golden Age.  Jewish  poets, scholars, scientists, statesmen, philosophers flourished within  and were an integral part of the Arab civilization.  For hundreds of  years, Jews and Arabs lived together in peace and with mutual respect.   In the middle of the twelfth century, this Golden Age of the Muslim  Empire  and the Jewish Golden Age in Spain ended.

    As a Foreign Correspondent, Radio DJ and Writer-Director I was compelled to see what caused such violent outrages against America all over the World.
So today I decide to watch for myself this short production and draw my own conclusions about it.
     Firstly, in my opinion as a professional, it was a VERY amateurishly slapped together film ! A 5 year old could have done better. The acting was also pathetic and wasn't even up to junior high drama class standards (I do NOT accept that the actors did NOT realize what was happening)
     It was, to say the very least, a disgusting, crude, vulgar,unauthentic, blasphemous,insulting and horribly shameful potrayal of mohamed the phrophet and the islamic religion !
     The film was obviously designed for one reason ONLY and that was to mock mohamed their prophet and provoke anger from those who believe in the islamic religion !
      I am NOT religious and lean towards science but I would NEVER make a movie so degrading and ruthlessly abusive towards the religious beliefs of over a billion people such as innocence of muslims !
It potrayed mohamed as a bloodthirsty,murderering,child raping,adulterating,power grabbing, delusionary lunatic !
If jesus or moses,etc were so potrayed there would be a massive outcry from christians and jews everywhere ! When John Lenon proclaimed the Beatles where more popular than Jesus Christ )which of course he only meant in a manner of speech)there was instant retaliation especially in the US bible belt where people began destroying their beatle records and paraphernalia !
      I am NOT condoning or synpathizing with terrorists or jihadists in any way, shape or form and I strongly condemn them and the terrible carnage and destruction they have caused towards the Western World and so many of their own people too ! However all muslims cannot be placed into just ONE category and I personally have met so very manyof them in various countries who are hard working, decent folk just like any other race or religion. There is also great division as we all see between the shia and the sunni moslems, so they too have great differences among themselves as do all other religions !
      Now bottom line folks, how do we repair the damage caused by that obnoxious and despicable film ? IF I had the budget, even a small budget, I would make a much better movie about islam and mohamed the prophet, not to appease or patronise anyone or in an apologetic sense, but rather to show that thousands of years ago people were different, in thheir way of thinking, behaving and ruling ! It was NOT only the muslims who were violent, betrayed friends and commited horrific violence, the jews, romans,egyptians, greeks,trojans,anglo saxons, vikings, romans,the mongolians the British crusades, the hindus slaughtered masses of muslims too and much later down the road so-called christians burned people at stakes remember ? and nOT that long ago the nazis and japanese committed horendously ihumane crimes ! So let's NOT allow some half assed idiots to slap together such a disgusting film that insults and provokes the muslims knowing their passionate devotion to their prophet and the qu'ran,etc.and get away with it. I'm sure if a proper, intelligently and fairly produced film was made in the same fairness and light as say mel gibson's passion of the christ........and boy did that upset the jews.......of course they never attacked or tried to kill him though......We must realise that muslims are NOT the same as Westerners and will NOT just turn the other cheek and take insults with a pinch of salt,etc,etc. I am not advocating we fear them or their responses, but rather show them that most of us level headed folk do understand what this is all about, especially after viewing that garbage of a film attempt which wouldn't even have made it into a karaoke place let alone a cinema ! One way to soften the outrage and iminent retributions (right or wrong) would be to guest islamic scholars,- not just US based academics,- from different countries on American TV to provide their versions about the islamic religion
      Finally, on behalf of real creative writers and filmakers I would like to apologize to the muslims for that terrible film and hope someday, someone, somehow, will  make a more pleasant and authentic and inspirational one about mohamed and islam in the same manner they would produce one about any other religious figure !

      I want to add as a footnote folks. I am a Welshborn British citizen who has lived all over the World, including 25 years in America, mostly in and around the Hollywood area and the movie industry. I know the American people would have had NOTHING to do with such a terrible and repulsive film. As I understand it was made by an egyptian, NOT an American. The actors, who were pathetic by the way, would have eagerly played any part just to get their  start in the film business ! But the American people on a whole are a decent, hard working, god fearing bunch and I am absolutely certain they are just as appalled and disgusted as I am with this film ! Because of the American constitution which guarantees freedom speech, I doubt any actual laws were violated in making the film, but discretion and common sense at a time America and the West is fighting terrorism should have been considered ! Let's all now move on and try to dampen the fires of anger and better understand and respect each other in the future !
