The Day After Sanba
- sarahbrowngb, CNN iReport producer
Blue skies over Okinawa give residents a sign of relief that Typhoon Sanba has finally passed. Typhoon Sanba approached Okinawa late Saturday evening as a category 4 before losing some strength and becoming a category 3 once passing through Okinawa.
Although the wind and rain are no longer a threat JMA has released high wave advisories throughout Okinawa due to the rough seas that Sanba has left behind.
Although some public transportation resumed yesterday all public transportation systems are back up and running today to include busses, the monorail and the airport.
Authorities did not report that any fatalities occurred in Okinawa due to Typhoon Sanba, however, there is currently one person missing. The 29 year old man from Naha who was snorkeling off Ishgaki Island, an island which is part of the chain of islands which make up Okinawa. Some believe that he was taken by the large waves and has yet to be found.
