CNN PRODUCER NOTE While on holiday in Egypt, iReporter macoman captured these videos in Cairo of protesters who had taken to the streets in anger over a controversial US-produced anti-Islam video. In the city's Tahrir Square the protesters were peaceful at first, but in other areas scuffles with security forces broke out. "I was affected by the tear gas as I got closer to the confrontation area between the police and the young people and got treated on the spot as several ambulances were waiting to help the injured," he said. Our iReporter condemned both the film and the violence that has erupted consequently across much of the Muslim world. "The movie represented a very huge insult to Islam and Muslims because the movie was not educational but was produced specifically and for the purpose of insulting and humiliating Muslims," he said. "There is also ignorance on the side of some Muslims who used violence to protest the movie."
