    Romney VP Pick

Until recently, Mitt Romney had not yet chosen his running mate for the election. Finally he picked Paul Ryan. Ryan is a 42 year old representative of the House from Wisconsin. Ryan claims to be a conservative, promising tax cuts to limit the budget.

There are some good things to Ryan’s new plans, mostly being tax cuts and also medicare reform. Limiting what we spend on certain areas could potentially lower Americas debt. Ryan plans to turn medicare into the form of money, one way or another. Seniors would receive that money to buy insurance on their own. Whether this is a good or bad thing, will be decided if this is ever passed.

Like I mentioned before, tax cuts can be a good thing... If they were in unimportant areas. Ryan wants to cut taxes in transportation, on veterans, and education. 25% less on transportation. 13% less on veterans. 33% less on education. Tax cuts should not be made in these places.

In my opinion, Ryan wants to cut too much in places where it shouldn’t happen. Roads around where I travel could use some work. You should never spend less on people who risked their lives for yours. And education needs more money instead of less to be more efficient. Ryan believes in a lot of what Romney believes, so I don’t think he could have chose a better VP anywhere.

Ryan is generally a good pick. He seems to be a trustworthy kind of guy. The medicare change sounds like it could be useful to seniors who need the insurance. If he changed some of the areas where taxes would be cut, I might agree with him myself.
