Just outside St. Johnsbury, Vermont, there sits a small white chapel, dedicated to man’s best friend. It’s been proven true that these canine treasures will stand beside you no matter your lot in life, rich or poor, happy or sad, they want to help weather the storm or enjoy a nice long walk. So are we not surprised that the late artist and writer Stephen Huneck, would build and create a Dog Chapel for those who would like to honor their life long companions. What a gift he has given us all, a place to meet with like minded people, who appreciate and remember their faithful animal friends.

The Chapel and Art Gallery are surrounded by 150 acres of beautiful rolling hills, where they have trails and a pond for your dog to enjoy. Inside the Chapel you will find a pad of colorful paper to post your thoughts and memories honoring your pet. Every inch of wall is covered with notes from dog owners around the world, that have come to visit this peaceful place. Stephen created the stain glass windows in the church and the furniture and art work. All a lasting reminder of his talent and dedication to his own dogs, Sally, Molly and Daisy.

Stephen’s wife, Gwen continues operating his Gallery and grounds which are free to the public. When driving through New England this is one place that will be remembered and touch your heart.
