Election 2012: Your stories |
I'm very insulted.
I have to admit I was insulted by Mitt Romney's comments. I was married at a young age and worked most of my life. My husband and I both have always worked hard and have never lived off the government. I remember our early years counting pennies to get groceries. We eloped and never ever asked our parents for help. Our sofa was a bean bag and our bed was a mattress on the floor. We are thankfully middle class now and always looking for ways to help our friends who are in need. Mitt Romeny is assuming that anyone who supports Obama is a free loader.
I looked at my husband when he came home from work yesterday after working a long day as he always does so that I don't have to get out there and work after having cancer and a sadness came over me. Sure there are people who abuse the system but as we can see they are not just poor people. They are rich people too who hide their money out of the United States to avoid paying taxes so is Mitt including them in his 47%? What a pitiful and sad statement.
