The U.S. Embassy condemns, in the strongest terms, the suicide bombing that took place today this morning near Kabul International airport, killing at least 10 people and injuring several others, including members of the Afghan National Police. Many of the victims were contracted personnel of a private company providing services to USAID and other organizations in Afghanistan. We offer our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of all of the victims, and we wish for a full recovery to the injured. This vicious attack again shows that the insurgents have no respect for human life. As Secretary Clinton has said, "There is never any justification for violent acts of this kind." Our thoughts are with the families and loved ones of those killed and injured in the attack. The United States will continue to stand resolutely with our partners as they defend themselves against terrorism and build a more peaceful future. -
