This iReport is part of an assignment:
Light Years: Your view of space and stars |
Our morning with Endeavour
I woke my 6 year old son up early, loaded him in the car and we drove just a mile to the Pineda Causeway overlooking the Indian River. This Causway connects right to the Patrick Airforce Base. I started to get goosebumps as I drove to the park there. I saw cars parked along the river off the side of the road. The park I chose for us to view the shuttle was already packed but there were still a few spots along the grass. I pulled in and my son and I got an awesome spot. As we waited for Space Shuttle Endeaver to pass over we watched the still river, dolphins swimming by and the sun rising. Then through the clouds we saw it. The shuttle came into view atop the airplane, it was amazing! My little boy was jumping up and down with excitement and I know it will be a memory neither one of us will ever forget!
