The Environment is being sadly overlooked during this political campaign. Does anyone pay attention to the dire warnings scientists keep announcing?

Today we hear yet again how the Arctic is melting faster than scientists ever imagined. If you think this isn't something to be concerned about, think again. Imagine having to relocate all the people in New York City? If the oceans rise as expected, that is a likely future scenario.

What can be done? Not a whole lot, unless we are willing to make drastic changes in our lifestyle. The GOP plan to gain energy independence by fracking and drilling and mining the hell out of our country will only exacerbate this growing threat.

The Arctic ice melt may be the greatest threat we are faced with. Are we going to ignore it and hope it stops or will we face the challenge head on and try to slow global warming down?

I wish I had hope that humans will recognize the risks we are facing to our very existence before it's too late.
