When asked about the space shuttle and the program ending, he eloquently responded: 'To view Endeavour's flight in person makes you a part of history. We know this is the end of an era in which we, as a nation, experienced many highs and a couple of tragic lows courtesy of the shuttle program. I am proud of all the men and women who made this possible and I felt honored to salute this symbol of human tenacity and intelligence,' he said. 'The end of the shuttle program is not the end of space flight or exploration. It is simply a progression to what comes next and I am excited about Space X and what they are doing for low earth orbit while NASA focuses on deep space exploration.'
