Shuttle Endeavour at Fort Bliss, TX

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     1SGRich of El Paso, Texas, uploaded a photo of Endeavour stopping at Fort Bliss to refuel one last time as the shuttle completes its cross-country farewell tour. When asked about the space shuttle and the program ending, he eloquently responded: 'To view Endeavour's flight in person makes you a part of history. We know this is the end of an era in which we, as a nation, experienced many highs and a couple of tragic lows courtesy of the shuttle program. I am proud of all the men and women who made this possible and I felt honored to salute this symbol of human tenacity and intelligence,' he said. 'The end of the shuttle program is not the end of space flight or exploration. It is simply a progression to what comes next and I am excited about Space X and what they are doing for low earth orbit while NASA focuses on deep space exploration.'
    - Jamescia, CNN iReport producer

Biggs Army Air Field, Fort Bliss, TX, was a refueling point for all ferry flights from Edwards AFB back to Florida. Today saw the last time this NASA tandem will be seen in the Southwest and it was supported by hundreds of Soliders and citizens of El Paso who lined the roads climbed on top of buildings to catch one last glimpse. After takeoff, you could see the pair make the turn to fly over White Sands and then on to points west.

Farewell Endeavour and on to the next adventure.
