Small Businesses Need More Sales and Customers, NOT Another Tax Break
Most small businesses don't need another tax cut. We need more customers and sales.
Another tax cut does you no good if you're not making enough money to use that tax break.
It's the same for unemployed Americans. How does a tax cut help when you're not working?
It's hard to use a tax break if you're unemployed.
Small businesses want more customers to come out for dinner, to go on vacation and stay at their motel.
What the hell good does another tax break do if you don't have enough customers to pay your electric bill or rent?
(And 97% of small businesses make less than $250,000 a year in net income. Raising taxes on those making more than this doesn't hurt most small businesses. Those above $250K, we're taking 3% more not 100%)
Here's the key word: 'Discretionary income'. It is the money remaining after all bills are paid off from people working. Same with small businesses.
When sales are up, businesses hire more people to accommodate more being sold.
Few, on unemployment benefits, have discretionary income.
We need to create more jobs.
If corporations are content to manufacture their goods overseas then we need to tariff those goods, take that money and put people to work building infrastructure and educating our workforce.
We need a WPA. Cut military spending by $300 billion next year, hire 10 million workers for public projects at $600 a week and take no taxes out of the worker's checks.
They'll have money to spend in restaurants, going to a movie, buying pizza and we'll still be spending more on military than we did in 2001 and more that the rest of the World expenditure on military combined.
Let's give small business what they want- more customers that have jobs.
Small businesses don't need to have their taxes cut more. We need more sales.
Our country needs another stimulus for Main Street this time. The banks already got theirs and they seem to be doing fine.
