    Republican Senators Jumping Ship

Since the release of the fundraiser recording of Mitt Romney, several Republican Senators have distanced themselves from the Presidential nominee. Polling has shown that many key states are now losing ground to the Democrats.

Key states such as Virginia, Indiana, Missouri and Wisconsin are now leaning Democratic.

Also the House of Representatives may gain at least 4 Democratic seats. While this is not enough to take control of the House, this will still leave Republicans in control, but with a reduced margin that will make it harder for the leadership to keep control. Although some analysts say that the Democrats could take control back.

Does this show any sign of fallout from the Romney tape? Most likely, but to what extent. While both candidates for the White House are not ideal, we still must choose between them. How can we come together as a nation after the election?

What does this election cycle mean for the country? Well, in this reporter's opinion, it means that we are pulling further apart as a nation. The country needs to get back to the business at hand instead of all the partisan in-fighting. Instead of trying to stop bills and policies, we need to find a way to come to an agreement. Now this doesn't fix the issues, but it will bring this country back together.

No matter who is sitting in the oval office come January, that leader will need to take a good hard look at this election cycle and try to come to the table with a solution. We will need to change the filibuster rules so that true bi-partisan work can be done. We will need to change the tax code to make it fair for all people, not just the wealthy. We need to love our neighbors. Isn't that what it is all about. We are all created equal, no matter what our party affiliation is.
