    Election 2012: Your stories

The President has to care about all Americans.

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     mforrest was inspired to send in this video after reading about GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney's recent comments about the Americans who don't pay federal income taxes. He says Romney's comments conflict with his own feelings about helping those in need. 'I don't. Mr. Romney has made other comments in the past that truly lead me to believe that he has no idea what life is like in the bottom 47%, and this latest is just affirmation. I think his mental picture of the vast majority of America is suburbia, Desperate Housewives style,' he said. He says that although he might get a tax break if he votes for Romney, he is more concerned with social issues impacting Americans and the country.
    - Jareen, CNN iReport producer

I'm just a guy who thinks that the choice between having a government that does what it can to support all people in need within the country's borders and a government that doesn't is pretty clear. Mr. Romney's 47% comment disappointed me, and made me want to record this short video. Of note, I've never done this before, and don't generally involve myself in political commentary, preferring to leave it up to the professionals. But maybe it's time for that kind of attitude to end.
