A Gift for Pro-Democracy Advocates in the Middle East.
You took to the streets during Arab Spring and we supported you. Some of your dictators were routed out. You won part of the battle.
But that didn't end the war. The fundamentalists that are the radical minority have disparaged your reputation. Just like so many in your countries were fooled into believing that the amateur film that sparked the violence was the "most popular" film in America, many in this country believe that all Muslims are disciples of a child molester. There is so much ignorance on both sides.
Let's hope that Democracy will win. Be strong. Stand up. Don't expect America to come to your defense. You will probably be mostly on your own. Good luck!
I offer these photos of flowers from my hometown in Northeastern Washington State. These were cultivated by a talented gardener in my town. They are some prize-winning Dahlias that I am lucky to pass by every day on my daily walk.
I am also including the beautiful sunset today, although the photo does it absolutely no justice! NO JUSTICE!
The last pic is from the sliver of a moon last week that I witnessed. It also did not get captured accurately with my camera.
May democracy overcome ignorance and religious oppression worldwide! I wish all those who are fighting for freedom and democracy will get the justice they deserve!
Thank you freedom lovers! I honor all who took to the streets today to protest the recent violence against Americans and I offer these photo in appreciation.
