    Deadly Avalanche Manaslu

    I just got a call from my husband who is leading the Ecuadrian National Clibing team on a summit attempt on the 8th highest mountain in the world. There has been a massive avalanche! WIth Cho Oyu, and Shisha Pinga closed to expeditions this year, Manaslu had an estimated 450 climbers in base camp according to offivial climbing star in Kathmandu, The Italina and Ecuadorian teams- number 1 and 2 int he long list of expeditions escaped without harm. It remains to be seen what the death toll will be. THe avalanche apparently took cmap three with it as it roared down the mountain. OUr prayers go out to the rescuers, victims and families suffering this great loss this evening,
