Pseudo Documentary
Dear Politically Savvy:
If you haven't seen it, perhaps you've heard about the pseudo-documentary "2016: Obama's America" that tries to paint the man as an anti-colonialist intent on "downsizing America" and destroying the American dream of liberty.
The conservative media are giving the film alot of PR hoping that viewers especially Independent voters - will be persuaded to not vote to re-elect Mr. Obama.
Unfortunately for them, more objective reviewers have panned the film for its conjectures without evidence, implausable stretches of the imagination, connecting of ephemeral dots, and juxtaposing of coincidences as if conspiratorial.
Considering that we have many years of Mr. Obama's life on record as a child in Hawaii, college student at Columbia, law student at Harvard, worker in Chicago, Senator from Illinois and President of the United States - not to mention his years as a family man - it's laughable that this conservative film maker with an ax to grind, and the deep pocketed funders behind him, have to resort to trying to fabricate a negative narrative about Mr. Obama from his childhood.
My goodness, how many of our ideas and opinions from our youth reflect what we believe today as adults. I'm not even sure I'd recognize some of them!
The pathetic thing is, Mr. Obama has proven to be such a highly effective president under the most daunting circumstances in several generations, that his record is virtually unassailable.
So his detractors have to go back to his deceased parents, and his parents' friends, to try to dig up some unflattering information that they hope will taint the president's reputation.
Truly pathetic.
