I watched the huge semi-truck glide down the curving tree-lined hill, towards the intersection where I had stopped at a stop sign. It's grill reflected the green of the trees and it was a sunny day. If I just gunned it, I thought; I could meet that grill it would be my last view of the world... in three, two, one, there would be no more heavy painful thinking, no more tears, or freezing fear of every next moment. My ankle joint felt so giddy, so powerful! It, simply with my decision could black out my life. (and the lives of my two toddler children who were with me.)
I what if it didn't work?
That thought sent me within the hour to Stairways, in Erie PA, sobbing and pouring out the blinding temptation I'd had swirling through my mind.
