    An almost art exhibit

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Tartan Art on the Avenue is an outdoor art exhibit celebrating the 2012 Ryder Cup. According to the event site, the super-sized golf balls -- three feet in diameter -- were decorated by local and national artists to raise money for local charities. The golf balls were then auctioned off to the highest bidder, with the proceeds going to local charities. iReporter tselone and his 17-year-old son, Mario, titled their golf ball "The Animals In Our Lives" and spent several days painting the design. They were disappointed that their golf ball was not selected.

    My son and I were chosen to paint a huge golf ball for the 2012 Tarten Art/Ryder Cup/McDonald's House Charities art exhibit along Michigan Avenue, in Chicago.

    50 artists were selected to showcase their golf ball art, but our golf ball art was not selected.

    I want to thank Tarten Art/Ryder Cup/McDonald's House Charities for giving us the opportunity to paint and for giving us supplies and a stipend for our work.

    However, my son was heartbroken that he can not see his work of art on Michigan Avenue. He was looking forward to this event and exhibit for a long time.

    We do not know where our golf ball went or what they will do with it, but here are photos of our golf ball art.
