    Ozzie's relatives lived here!

In the fascinating world of paleontology one species has attracted more attention than most others, the study of the Neanderthals named after their first discovery in the Neander Valley of Germany. Neanderthals are thought to be the closet species related to you and I before they died out some 25,000 years ago. This site located outside of Krapina, Croatia is home to one of the largest fossil collections of Neanderthals in one place. Since it's original discovery in 1899 thousands of ancient fossils dating from 30,000 to 130,000 years ago have been found and identified.

We are aware of one very unique and well known person who has had  their entire DNA sequence fully mapped in the interest of science. As a  result we can confirm that none other than that bat eating consumer of  swimming pools of booze and drugs, Ozzie Osbourne has a direct and very  strong link to Neanderthal lineage. Apparently this tendency to survive  hardship was quite helpful for the Prince of Darkness to survive the  rigors of being a front man to a heavy metal band : > ) Which of  course leads to another great mystery of science, "Is there an Ozzie  Gene" and who has them?
