Im about to be 23 years old and have been was diagnosis with depression when i was in 5th or 6th grade. I've taken multiple medications for it and while I think they did work during the day when i was on them once the effects of the drug started to wear off at night time. It was the worst I was ten times more depressed then i was before started taking the drugs and definitely more hostile which Im not that type of person. Only thing that i think works for me and while it might not be for everybody is Marijuana. I was put on probation earlier this year and have not been able to smoke. This year has been extremely difficult for me with my mother being in the hospital and my girlfriend breaking up with me. Also not being able to use my "Medication" hasn't helped either. My depression this year is by far the worse it's been since I can remember. I've never been so unmotivated in my life and don't feel like doing anything. I've never spent so much time lying in my bed feeling sorry for myself. Which I think a lot of other people can relate to. I don't think you can ever treat depression I think it's something you have to deal with. Some people deal with it better than others. Some people cases are worse than others. It all just depends on the person. I feel extremely sorry for anybody that has to deal with it. It can take hold of your entire emotions and life which I would never pray on anybody. I think one of the best things you can do if you have depression is getting a hobby or something that can keep your mind off of yourself whether thats exercising or some type of arts and crafts. It really helps. Again though I don't think depression is something that is treatable it's just something that you have to deal with. I guess you could say you just have to make the best of a bad situation.
