    Salute to troops

LOOKING FORWARD TO THE DAY WHEN MY SOLDIER MEETS HIS NEWBORN DAUGHTER

My husband, Specialist Preston Robbins, joined the Army in October 2010 and has been serving in Afghanistan since March 2012.

Our second baby (our first daughter) was born by C-section on September 4 and he was able to witness her birth via Skype. The hospital put our story on the local news. Link here to the hospital article: http://hcamidwest.com/about/newsroom/detail.dot?id=b5c28858-07ed-4596-a9e5-a8db98a5c2fa

We also found out the gender of our daughter together via Skype.

Preston will not get to hold his baby girl, Sylvia, until his return to the states, which should before Christmas. I know that this little girl will be wrapped around his finger instantly when they look into each others eyes. That will be such a magical moment for my family.

Our 4-year-old son, Braydon, is also looking so forward to playing with his Daddy again.

I am incredibly proud of my husband and am looking forward to the best Christmas present ever - having my husband home again!
