CNN PRODUCER NOTE     GaryofNYCGaryofNYC, an amateur photographer who lives in Midtown Manhattan, has been covering protests this week against Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who addressed the U.N. General Assembly on Wednesday. These photos were from a rally at Dag Hammarskjold Plaza, next to the United Nations.

'I heard that one of the world's greatest tyrants was staying nearby and decided to capture some of the outrage of Iranian expatriates and marvel at the security details put into place to protect this man and his delegation, much of the cost to the taxpayer.'

Speakers at the rally included former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, former U.S. Rep. Patrick Kennedy of Rhode Island and former New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson, who also served as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. The iReporter found the protesters 'friendly, kind and quite joyous at the turnout. They were ecstatic at all the attention being paid to the woes of their countrymen who suffer in Iran and Syria.'
