    Are you living with depression?

    Depression remission - EXERCISE

Had treatmant resistant major depression. Tried almost every antidepressant on the market. Was fighting for my life and needed to be a mom for my kids. Saw a third psychatrist who said there are two things that will help me. 1) Exercise 2) Therapy
Shocked! Not what I expected him to say! Told me to read a book called "Spark" by John Ratey. Went straight to the "depression" chapter. Was shocked when I learned exactly how exercise helps with depression, anxiety, and stress, etc. Made a committment to try it for 90 days. Started feeling better within a few days. I am well over 100 days now and am in complete remission. This book and the psychiatrist saved my life! I work out almost evey day. I call it my "medicine." You have to do 30 min of cardio at least 5 days a week, the more the better. I am 46 years old and am proud to be in great shape! Depression is gone. Anxiety is gone. Not affected by stress anymore. In Britain and Austriala, psychiatrist's recommend exercise before prescribing any antidepressant. The drug companies here make billions on antidepressants. Exercise is free, no side effects, makes you stronger physically and mentally. I am a nurse in psychiatry and I recommend exercise to all my depressed patients. Spent over 2 years of my life in bed. Once I took control of my life and stopping using depression as a crutch, I have my life back! I am a mom again and I am doing things I haven't done in years!
