    Protest in Indian Kashmir in view of the Indian President's visit

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     yasirmahajan photographed protesters demonstrating against the Indian President Pranab Mukherjee's visit to Kashmir University. Protestors had banners and placards in their hands that read ‘Release Political Prisoners’ and ‘Resolve Kashmir Issue,' he said. He told me security was high, but the protestors remained peaceful and determined about their cause.

    People are staging a sit in ptotest demanding the release of political prisioners and resolution of Kashmir issue. As the Indian President Mr P. Mukarjee is visit the kashmir valley for his three day official trip, security has been tightened up and the main venue where the Preaident is scheduled to convene the yearly convocation of Kashmir University on the banks of the Dal lake has been turned into a garrison. Kashmir University students union has been protesting against the Presidents visit by wearinh black arm band and hoisting black flags over many University Deptt buildings.
