Final presidential debate: Unanswered questions |
Healthcare as a part of your business model
I never cut benefits, I find if you cut benefits most employees will simply not elect to purchase Health coverage for themselves. They can not afford it.
So if uninsured they go the emergency room, where the provider(Clinic, Hospital) is obligated by law (EMTALA) to treat without asking for insurance information.
This person can not afford the cost of the treatment and the cost if then factored into the rising costs of Healthcare, so I (we) are now all paying for this uninsured persons treatment through higher health care costs and higher insurance premiums.
So; Mr. Romney: What legislation could you support so the incentive would be for small companies such as my own to want to keep insuring their employees and also to make it affordable for the individual who's company will not factor in healthcare costs in their business model?
