Azerbaijani Youth Activist Kidnapped
Azerbaijani youth activist and a board member of N!DA Citizens Movement Zaur Gurbanli was kidnapped by unkown people dressed in civilian clothes who identified themselves as members of The Anti-Organized Crimes Unit of the Ministry of Interior Affairs in the morning of September 28. His apartment, and office of Positive Change Youth Movement was searched, various print materials calling for people to join N!DA and protest against President Ilham Aliyev running for his 3rd term in 2013 and Zaur's laptop was seized. There is unofficial claim that he is currently being held and tortured in the Anti-Organized Crimes Department, however all of the officials including the Ombudsman Instutitute and the Anti-Organized Crime Unit have actively denied it. Wherebouts of Zaur Gurbanli are still unknown, his family and friends are extremelly worried and some, including influential journalists believe that he might have been murdered.
