This iReport is part of an assignment:
Teachers: Why do you teach?
Because I Believe I Can Change The Pattern
I am not a regular teacher you see in school. I am a home based teacher.
Being a teacher in the comfort of my home gives me appropriate time for my kids and household chores.
Though it may not provide enough income to my family, it helps us survive.
I do not teach, as a matter of usual practice, these lovely kids you see in the photo. But I do believe that whenever I have an activity with them, I give intellectual and spiritual light and kindle that fire they have within their hearts, which energizes their mind and body, that earnestly declares they can be anybody they want to be regardless of what people say.
I teach because I want my students to learn about a different pattern of thinking which is not like what most people have learned.
A student with disability should not learn that what he can do is limited.
A victim of a natural disaster should not learn that it is impossible to survive or recover.
A child who's been from generations of charity dependent family should not think he can never have a better life.
I just pray that every adult would do the same and teach them that borders do not exist when it comes to achieving their dreams.
