Final presidential debate: Unanswered questions |
What Romney needs to do
As I listen to the Republican political analysts and Gov. Chris Christie talk about the zingers Gov. Romeny has prepared for President Obama, all I can do is shake my head and wonder if Gov. Romney will ever get it! Don't get me wrong, I am an Obama supporter for all the right reasons, but I think if Romney goes up against President Obama with zingers, it will be the end for his hopes to win the White House.
Romney need's to deliver a substantive debate that clearly demonstrates that he understands the issues facing America and how his policies are better than President Obama's. Gov. Romney needs to provides specifics with enough detail so that we can understand just how the President has failed (according to Romeny) and how his policies whould be better for the nation. It's time to face the facts America has a smarter electorate who have been paying close attention to the developments in our nation. I think if Gov. Romney goes into this first debate looking for an opportunity to zing one at the President would be an horrific mistake.
The problem is, Gov. Romney has been the opposite of President Obama on every issue. To Gov. Romney, the President has been wrong on everything and appointing Paul Ryan makes Gov. Romney appear to be the leader of the Tea Party to the majority of the electorate. Personally, I don't think there is anything the Gov. Romney can do the change the current trajectory of the campaign and acheive his desired outcome; but Gov. Romney doesn't have to walk away from this debate looking incompetent. If Gov Romney will just bring an honest debate to support his position (whatever it is), I think that will go much further with the American people than 10,000 zingers.
