Autumn in Michigan
When I travel across the country and people ask me where I’m from and I tell them Michigan, the most common response is “Why do you live somewhere so cold?”
If you live in Michigan or have really spent any time there you realize it’s only cold for a short period of time. Now talk to me in February and see if I’m still saying the same thing! Last year for example I can only remember 3 snow storms and only one of them stuck around for any length of time. The rest of the year is truly wonderful.
In the spring you have the budding of the flowers and the excitement of opening up cottages, in the summer you have the Great Lakes, and plenty of other small lakes and streams to fish or relax at, and then right after football season starts you have Autumn. The weather starts to cool off and leaves start to change colors before falling off for the winter.
That’s what these photos show. I took all of these photos yesterday 10.1.12 during my trip from Lansing to Green Bay. Most of these were taken in The Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
So if you have never been to Michigan give it a shot, it’s a lot more than just Snow, Automotive Industry and Detroit… Although I like all three of those just fine!
