Health Care Reform will be knocking on our doors as of 1/1/2014. Health insurance rates and minimum deductibles of health care plans will change for everyone, except for those employers with grandfathered plans.
Blue Cross Blue Shield is offering you an opportunity to know exactly what you will pay in premiums for 12/1/2012 through 12/1/2014. Providing you with security in knowing exactly what your health care costs will be for the next 2 years.
The offer they are extending, which must be accepted by October 26th, 2012, is to change your renewal date to December 1, 2012 and accept an increase NOW of 8.9% on 12/1/2012 through 12/1/2013. Then from 12/1/2013 through 12/1/2014 you will be offered an increase of 9.9%.
This decision is a mathematical equation of paying for most employers, more money and an educated guess, based upon what the future holds for the health of your employees, what your renewal increase will be and a crystal ball to determine what the election results hold. Will government funding be available to support the Affordable Health Care Act?
Phillips Agency has spent considerable time and has developed a mathematical model. If you would like a projection, please provide us with your total medical premium only, minus dental and life. Please email or call with any questions, we are here to help.
Sincerely,
Phillips Agency
