The USS Michael Murphy was commissioned today by the Navy into active service. NYC mayor Michael Bloomberg spoke at the ceremony, as well as Congressman Peter King, Senator Charles Schumer and a host of military and political dignitaries. Lt. Murphy's mother, Maureen, father Daniel and other relatives were in attendance, as well as the families of 16 other service members killed in the mission to extract Lt.
