TICKET to RIDE in ALASKA
The Gulch run leaves the Anchorage train station promptly at 8:30 a.m. during the winter runs that occur on the first Thursday of every month, starting in October and returns around 8:00 p.m. that evening. Sometimes the train runs late due to many stops and starts. The long 115-mile journey does offer fantastic scenery, glimpses of wildlife (both animal and human) and finally, the spectacular Hurricane Gulch bridge--suspended a breathtaking 254 feet above the white waters of Hurricane Creek.
I captured this shot that represents to me--the reflected beauty of interior Alaska that a train ticket to ride offers.
