The Hunger-Free Act has a loophole
The Healthy Hunger-Free Act of 2010 had started a new lunch agreement for the schools to provide.So there would be more fruits and veggies as well as less salt and fat. So the kids can only have a maximum of 800 calories per day. Accordingly the school lunches should be better right ... yes and no, the school lunches are more healthier but the food that they provide to us is not substantial enough to keep children full. But it has had a better variety of fresh foods but when the crops are done growing the schools give the kids canned foods which dont seem very healthy. They are most likely to have the same meals with a lesser amount of food. But the schools are continuing on to give the students unhealthy food choices and some of these are making kids still hungry after school lunch is over. Therefore there will be more students taking packed cold lunches to school so they will be full after lunch is over. Accordingly you may see more kids with cold lunches rather than the schools.
