Yesterday, the Shell gas station posted $4.74 per gallon for regular gasoline, in San Diego. Today when I drive by the station, who knows what it’s going to be.

Shipping costs are affected by the price of gasoline and inflate the prices of food; however, many Californians' are frustrated that the news media hasn’t covered how gasoline prices affect families before they even get to the grocery store.

My daughter's school has only one bus route and has to be driven back and forth to school on a daily basis. This in addition to other everyday travel needs taxes our budget to the limits.

What's left in food money? $75.00 for two weeks. For a family of three, you are probably wondering how I feed my family as a father and husband. I go to food banks, get payday loans, use credit cards, and borrow from friends. Not only has racking up debt made the problem worse, but it has made our food dwindle in the long run.

I opened the fridge yesterday and it was empty. I can’t help thinking that it is a direct result of the gasoline prices and when I drive to the gas station later today, the prices will be even higher. I will have to dig deep in my pocket for a $5 bill to get just one gallon of gasoline.
