    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Teacher ed92400 from Detroit, Michigan, took this picture at the sports day at her school in Samcheok, South Korea where she is teaching English, to show how she tries to lead by example. "Normally, I only get to witness how strong my students are mentally but on this day I was able to see how strong they were physically," she said. "I try to challenge the girl's perception of what a woman is supposed to be in Korea. As a strong and confident woman myself, I try to instill my values in them. I think I set an example that as a woman in Korea you don't have to follow the stereotypes set aside for women."

    I am an American currently teaching in rural South Korea at an all girl's middle school. I teach about 850 students a week. These are young girls who inspire me to be strong and will one day inspire the world. I am proud to say that I am an educator and help to empower young girls to grow up to be strong women.
