Lake CHarles, Louisiana
![]() |
This iReport is part of an assignment:
Hurricane Ike |
Lake Charles, La. Flooding
Ike was not a tough storm with wind or rain in South West Louisiana, but the storm surge has pushed the water of Lake Charles over its banks and into the neighborhood of the City of Lake Charles. Everyone agrees that this surge is at least a foot or two higher than that of Rita in 2005.
Picture #5 was early Saturday morning, followed by picture #6 90 minutes later as the lake spilled out of its banks and over Shell Beach Drive.
