    The amazing Wood Duck

Wood Ducks are perhaps the most stunning of all waterfowl. They live mostly in swamps and nest in holes in trees or even in nest wooden boxes put up on trees.
They can grip on branches and perch on them.
The males are superb with iridescent colors from green to chestnut and beautiful patterns on wings. The females have a very distinctive profile with a white pattern around the eye
It is distinctly a North American species. Its only close relative is the Mandarin Duck found in Eastern Asia.
