The picture you see is that of Minanuel Estate, an Estate of about 500 units of 2 and3 bedroom Bungalow located in Gosa, Airport Road Abuja. This Estate is now in ruins. All is that is left rubbles. Minanuel Estate is one of the foremost Estates in Gosa which was developed by Minanuel Investment Limited, Abuja. On the 29th of September, 2012; bulldozers were rolled in by the FCDA and demolished the entire estate without any previous notice to the developer. Not one, twenty or fifty houses were destroyed but all 500 of them. This is the height of injustice in a democratic setting. The government of the day ought to have appreciated the efforts of this developer to singlehandedly provide shelter for about 500 families and empowered them to become home owners. Government alone cannot meet up withthe housing demand in the country without the partnership of the private sector, moreso, in its sruggle to achieving the vision 20-20-20 agenda. No doubt billions of Naira have gone down the drain. The hopes of many families dashed as well because the Estate was fully subscribed before the demolision. We call on all well meaning Nigerians to condemn this act and demand full justice. How could we move forward in a lawless country like this? Could anyone imagine the psychological trauma that the people behind this act have put the concerned people into? How could somebody inflict such pain on a thousand others just because he/she( whoever gave such directive)happens to be at the corridor of power? All Nigerians should rise up and demand for justice on behalf of the developer and over one thousand families who are directly or indirectly affected by this demolition.
