    Salute to troops

    More than just an Airman

My dear husband, Air Force SSgt Eric Miller is an American hero. We met back in the suburbs of Chicago during our junior year in high school, but we did not find love until almost five years after our gradation. We reconnected by chance in early 2011 via Facebook and have been together ever since.

By the age of 24 Eric had served two tours in Iraq and one tour in Afghanistan, deploying in 2009, 2010 and in 2011. During his time in Iraq he was honored with an Outstanding Volunteer Award for his efforts in a local hospital and his volunteering back home. He continues to go above and beyond by volunteering his time at organizations like "Meals on Wheels" and "Children in Crisis". With six years in the military under his belt he has dreams of climbing the ranks and making a real difference in the Air Force.

Eric, thank you for all that you do and everything you have sacrificed. I hope you always know that you have not only changed my life, but the lives of all those that have gotten to know you throughout the years. You have brought more excitement, joy, and love to my life than I ever thought possible, and for that, I am grateful. You will always be my hero. I love you!
