    Waterspout Over San Diego Bay

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     vicmele captured these photos of a rare waterspout sighting on Thursday, October 11, as he and a friend were driving north on Interstate 5 near National City, CA. "I decided to take my camera to shoot photos of the clouds since a storm was moving in. After shooting several photos, our attention was drawn to our left when we saw what first seemed to be low lying clouds," he says. "When we got to a clearing, we saw that it was in fact a spinning waterspout. I was astonished. I'd never seen a tornado, let alone a waterspout."

    A waterspout was spotted over San Diego Bay near National City at 10:05 AM on Thursday, October 11 2012. Several photos were shot from Interstate 5 before it finally broke up and disappeared.
