    Endeavour's Parade

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Weszor captured these images of space shuttle Endeavour rolling through the streets of Los Angeles, California, on October 12. ‘The Endeavour parade is very much a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that I could not pass up. There are only a handful of vehicles to ever reach beyond our world, and the knowledge they have given us is often taken for granted,' he says. 'As so many other kids dreamed, I wanted to be an astronaut once upon a time, too, and the space shuttle parade was a wonderful opportunity to be close to that childhood dream. I did see it fly, and I already have plans to see it again at the Science Center upon its opening.'

    After waiting with several other excited space enthusiasts in a parking lot across from Endeavour's overnight holding area, we finally saw the spaceship roll in around 5AM PST. While seeing Endeavour fly through the air mounted victoriously upon a 747 was a sight to remember, LAPD was thankfully allowing us a much, much closer look this time around so long as we promised not to become too large or rowdy of a crowd.
