Life Lessons in Independent Living and Life Skills Classes

Hi. My name is Karen Molbert and I am a teacher at Massaponax High School in Fredericksburg Virginia. I have been a special education teacher for over 20 years and a National Board Certified in this area. I am currently teaching Life Skills and Independent Living classes. These classes help promote students to learn functional life skills that will help them be as independent as possible post graduation. I incorporate CNN student news into my daily warm ups because it keeps my students up to date with what is going on in the world and environment around them. They have to write about which story they liked the best which helps them with writing skills as well as process information they receive. The visuals, music and upbeat presentation even keeps my students with Autism interested. Hats off to you and your program and I look forward to your new and interesting stories.

    Sincerely,

    Karen Molbert

Ps. My students love the before you go segment, and my teacher assistants love the puns!!
