Less than POOR services for passengers with disabilities. We arrived on flight AA0539 to London Heathrow and had to connect to BA0920. Upon arrival there was no info available on when and where to get the wheel chair assistance requested prior to flights. After 30 minute wait, we were finally wheeled into a holding area. 4 employees sat idle complaining about lack of employees to cart passenger around. After an hour wait we were carted to a second holding area (more like herded). Another group of employees looked at our connecting flight boarding pass and explained that we were low priority because our connection was later in the afternoon. There was no concern for the fact that we had just spent several hours in travel ( 3.5 hr. drive to airport, 3 hours waiting for international flight, an 10 hours in flight). When we asked for eating facilities we were told there were non available until we clear security again. We waited for another hour in this pen, but decided we needed food and we wanted to be closer to our connection , so we started to walk . It was then that an employee finally allowed me the use of a wheelchair to cart my son to our terminal (2.5hours after our arrival to UK). No one should be treated with such lack of respect and empathy! Hard to believe that London was just the host of the Para-Olympics!
